Bike Repair Class Forming Interested in becoming more self-reliant and learning how to repair your own bike but not sure where to start? The Bike Library is holding a series of two and a half hour classes on bike repair starting Saturday June 22 and running for five Saturdays (last class July 20). Each class will run from 4-6:30pm and go through repairing a different part of the bicycle in detail. The classes will be taught by one of the best mechanics in town and Bike Library volunteer, James Derderian. The classes are $100 for all five sessions. Participants should make sure that they can attend all five as there will be no make up classes or refunds. Stop by the Bike Library if you have questions or want to sign up! |
Bike Checkout
Bikes are available for checkout on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm.
In the spring and summer months the queue can begin quite early and our supply of bikes is limited--arrive early!

Bench/Tool Rental
(Rent-a-Bench)
For $5/hour you can use the bike library's tools, books, and equipment to tune up or repair your bike. Rental bench is free for Environmental Advocates, Bicyclists of Iowa City, or Bike Library volunteers. Rental Bench hours are from 12noon to 3pm (times can very in winter) on Saturdays and on Friday afternoons (see schedule for variable hours)
