Bike Checkout
Overview
Visit our 408 E College Street location and find a bike you like that fits you. We can help you choose one. You can then check out the bike for 6 months with a deposit.
Deposits
Deposits vary based upon the type and condition of the bike.
| Single speed kids bikes: | $5 |
| Multi-geared kids bikes: | $10 - $20 |
| Adult bikes: | $20 - $80 |
Returning the Bike
If you return the bike within 6 months, we will return your deposit minus damages beyond normal wear. A check will be sent to you at the address you provide. This takes one to two weeks.
Keeping the Bike
If you decide to keep the bike, the Bike Library automatically keeps your deposit after the 6-month due date, and that money is used to purchase parts and equipment to keep this community bike project operating.
Helmets
Helmets are available for free with checkout.
Maintenance and Repairs
During the 6-month checkout period labor is free on adjustments and minor repairs. You are responsible for the cost of any necessary replacement parts, and we offer these at discounted prices during the checkout period. We recommend visiting a local bike shop for repairs on bikes past the 6-month due date or for parts and accessories not available at the Bike Library.
